With over thirty years at sea and nearly two decades as a marine pilot, Douglas brings a wealth of operational experience across the whole tanker sector as well as signifigant skill in shiphandling and navigation.

 

He has long been accepted as a subject matter expert in these fields by Multi-National companies and can be relied upon to offer solid, no nonsense expert opinion.

Operational planning & time management. Supervision of own employees & third-party workforce. Training of crew & new hires. Regarded as subject matter expert in this field.

BP Shipping - Deck Officer

1991–2007

Deck Cadet rising to Chief Officer. Control of custody transfer of up to one million barrels of crude oil from ship side. Operational planning, time & safety management. Budget control. Supervision, training & assessment of junior officers & crew.
